About me

Shows website creator standing under branches My name is Emily Ziegler and I am a freshman at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse.  I am currently majoring in biochemistry with a minor in Spanish.  In my free time I enjoy to go hiking, play tennis, paint with watercolors, and listen to music.  I also enjoy travelling and have visited many of the 50 states as well as Costa Rica.  I don't know what I'd like to do with my life yet, but I'm sure whatever it is will be interesting and fulfilling.

I chose to do this project on wild rice not only becuase it's delicious but it also holds historical significance especially around this region of the United States. (You can learn more about this by clicking here). I think it's neat that the traditional ways of harvest have been maintained and that it still proves to be a valuable food source. I hope you've enjoyed reading about wild rice as much as I have enjoyed making this site!

If you have unanswered questions or any comments about wild rice, I'd love to hear them. Feel free to contact me at ziegler.emil@uwlax.edu.

Check out the references that I used here which include some other sites that you may find interesting.
